"Hemp won't get you high, but it might get your head above water. Especially if you're a struggling American family farmer getting screwed by big banks and chemical corporations. As a textile, hemp demands less than half the resources, yet produces at least twice the yield as cotton. Tending to my little DIY backyard urban hemp farm has given me some of my favorite days. As far as I can tell, if a weirdo artist like me can grow, cultivate, and process my own hemp, so can anybody.
